                                 CIRENCESTER AC and TRIATHLON CLUB


Anglian Water Duathlon, Huntingdon, 10km run, 40km bike, 5km run.

Adrian Williams won against a competitive field of 190A and lthough he described his win as “comfortable” the lead changed several times, leaving him to win from fourth in the run.  Williams qualified for the European and World Championships.

Gloucestershire XC League (3 of 4), Pittville Park, Cheltenham

The course was deceptively  challenging with a river crossing on each lap.  Amongst the juniors CAC had an age group win with Henry Sheffield and a fifth for his brother Archie – great efforts by all.

U11 Boys. 1 Henry Sheffield, 16 Zac Humphries, 29 Tom Williams. This team of 3 was fifth.
U13 Boys. 29 Andrew Woods
U15 Boys 5 Archie Sheffield, 10 Sam Cook

Ladies. A depleted team comprised, 57 Liz Thomas, 109 Pam Wheeler and 116 Helen Manners; they were 25th team. Sally Hogan (Bromsgrove & Redditch AC) won and 129 finished.

Men.  With six to score there were just enough to give the team fifth place. Bill Leggate was 13th with 16 James Thomas. 30 Oliver Pritchard, 34 Ian Barrett, 48 Simon Campbell, 137 Tim Ingham and 147 Dorian Matts. 168 finished. Oli Mott (Cheltenham & County Harriers) won.

Castle Combe Chilly 10km, road. Chris Illman made a welcome return and found some tough competition amongst CAC’s “young bucks” Issac McAdam and Luke Campbell. Rhiannon Brown finished well in the top quarter of the field.

Bramley '20', nr Reading, 20 miles road.  Ultra runner Martin Croucher (2:40.14)  used this as a warm-up for something longer, finishing 240th out of 684.  Alex Wall-Clarke (Southampton AC) won in 1:54.24

parkrun, 5km trail. There were 211 finishers at Cirencester with some solid runs  by Howard Ewan and Nick Holliday.  There were familiar faces at Swindon, Rachel Ranger trekked up to Bakewell and Liza Darroch and Rupert Chesmore joined a down-under parkrun.   Results.
