                           CIRENCESTER AC and TRIATHLON CLUB




Flying Monk Malmesbury 10km, road. Two of CAC’s “young bucks,” brothers Luke and Ollie Campbell ran their hometown race and finished in fine style in second and third places. Stuart Fitzgerald was eighth to complete a strong Ciren performance.


Result. 1 Simon Gilbert (Devizes RC) 35.57, 2 Luke Campbell 36.38, 3 Ollie Campbell 37.12, 8 Stuart Fitzgerald 39.27, 286 finished.  




Westbury 5km, road. David Wright was Ciren’s sole representative at this midweek race and he performed to his own high standards to finish twenty-fourth in 18.25 and 1st V60. The race winner was Jack Bancroft (Bristol & West AC)  in 15.02 and 93 finished.




Severn Bridge half marathon, 13.1miles road. A delighted Tim Ingham ran a PB, a negative split and was 136th , wet, cold and happy in 1:35.55. Barbara Thomas was 1006th in 2:16.39 and 10th LV60. Robert Mann (Exeter Harriers) won in 1:10.47 and 1369 ran.




National Masters Track & Field Champs, Alexander Stadium, Birmingham


FV35/40/45 1500m. Caroline Cotterell made the difficult switch from road to track to finish tenth in 5:25.60 and 6th FV45. The race winner was Mitch Lloyd (Basingstoke & Mid-Hants AC / Southern Counties VAC) in 4:54.28.
FV45 400m   Lisa Carpenter, also representing Cirencester AC and South West VAC, was sixth in 1:13.61. The winner was Yvette Clayton (Corby & District AC / Eastern Counties VAC) in 1:05.21

Cirencester:  With eight of the 168 finishers coming from CAC the Club was well represented at all levels with a strong third place from Ian Barrett and another quick run from Gordon Jones in the V65 category.


Results.3 Ian Barrett 19.01, 14 Neil Morrissey 21.34, 21 Gordon Jones 22.06, 38 Paul Timms 23.54, 49 Peter Rowland 24.42, 79 Rachel Jones 27.37, 87 Samantha Timms 28.20, 114 Nina Lawrence 30.55. 
Martin Croucher put in someuses the parkrun as speed training and was 21st in 20.58 whilst Barbara Thomas, 186th in 27.02, continues with her quest to again run 100 races this year. 417 runners finished
Chippenham: Ollie Campbell (J) was 12th  in 20.03 in preparation for the Flying Monk event. 176 completed the course.
Penhryn, BangorFather Alan McAdam saw his sons Isaac come-in fifth in 17.59 and  Jacob 10th in 19.26;  Alan was 56th and clocked a solid 25.22.  197 finished
Workington:  Kate Sackett trekked north to finish 11th and 1st lady in 21.00. 116 ran
